Juliet Lammers is a filmmaker, writer, and producer.
She recently completed a ten-part documentary series called Studios, Lofts & Jam Spaces
(10 x 30mins) that explores the lives and work of ten Montreal based artists. Studios, Lofts & Jam Spaces
premiered on MAtv in February 2017.
Her second film Inside These Walls
(44 mins), premiered on CBC Firsthand in October 2016. It continues to broadcast on Firsthand and is available online in Canada on the CBC Firsthand website. Inside These Walls won Best Short Doc at Crossroads in Mississippi and has been nominated for a Golden Sheaf Award for Best Political/Social Doc.
Juliet's debut feature documentary film Last Woman Standing
premiered in 2013 and has played select theaters and festivals internationally. Last Woman Standing
aired on CBC Documentary Channel, is distributed by Film Buff, and was acquired by the NFB for educational distribution across North America.
Prior to filmmaking, Juliet worked extensively in Montreal's community and independent media sector. She was the funding and promotions
coordinator at CKUT 90.3fm and later developed CKUT's Kids Radio Camp soon to enter its ninth year. She was also a co-founder of Pop
Montreal's film festival component Film Pop and has taught in the Journalism department at Wilfrid Laurier University in Brantford, Ontario.
Juliet was born in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in Frankfurt, Germany. She holds a BA in German Literature and an MA in Media Studies. In addition to English, she speaks fluent German and French and gets by in Spanish and Japanese.
Juliet currently lives in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
